Cornea Transplants
Mark Meadows MD has performed over 200 successful cornea transplants over the past 8 years. These transplants have been performed for a variety of reasons such as Keratoconus, Fuchs Corneal Dystrophy, infections and trauma to mention a few. After evaluation by Dr Meadows you will be placed on the transplant list at the Regional Eye Bank. A tentative medical clearance will be obtained from your primary physician and a determination of the type of anesthesia used will be made. Once an appropriate age matched tissue is found you will be notified and scheduling of your procedure will be finalized. Usually no systemic anti rejection medicines are required with modern corneal transplants and the recovery period is rapid.
